FlightSem Software (FSS) is an acronym for 'Flight Scenery Enhanced Modular Software'.

FSS Aims and Objectives

 

The General Aims and Objectives of FlightSem Software is to ...

1. Improve the flight simulator experience by providing virtual pilots with some degree of reality to the ‘Virtual World in which they are flying.

2. Provide 'virtual pilots' with more realistic Regional Scenery - specifically for Southampton & the Isle-of-Wight in the UK.

3. Enhance well known British and European Sea Ports in order to bring some degree of reality to these default FSX ports.

4. Develop Addon Scenery that is compatible with Microsoft Flight Simulator X   and  Microsoft Acceleration X Expansion Pack.

In addition FSS may also ...

1. Improve FSX Airports and Airfields which have errors in the default scenery or need some degree of scenery reality enhancement.

2. Develop 2D-Panels suitable for multi-screen displays on home-made, flight simulator cockpits.

3. Provide 'virtual pilots' with free 3rd party FSX scenery downloads for Hampshire & the Isle-of-Wight in the UK.

4. Ensure that FSS Software Products blend as seamlessly as possible with Flight 1 Software Ultimate Terrain X (Europe) and

Flight 1 Software Ground Environment X  (Europe) software upgrades.

Although Ground Environment X  (Europe) is optional, it is strongly recommended in order to provide virtual pilots with the best visual effects with FSS Software Products.

 Current Scenery Project by FSS

 

The scenery project currently being undertaken by FlightSem Software is the rendition and enhancement of a number of default FSX Sea Ports.

 

  European & UK Sea Ports UTX   

Currently, three FSX Sea Ports have been developed and represent the first renditions in the European & UK Sea Ports UTX Scenery Series. The first sea port (Volume 1 in the series) is the Port of Malaga in Spain. The second sea port (Volume 2 in the series) is the Port of Southampton in the UK. The third (Volume 3 in the series) is Southampton Water which enhances further Volume 2.

 Future European & UK Ports UTX Scenery

Readers might be interested to know that FlightSem Software’s new add-on scenery in the European & UK Ports UTX Series is Volume 3: Southampton Water X (UK). This scenery has now been released. Volume 3 completes the statutory boundary of Southampton Port X and includes Marchwood Recycling Plant and Military Port, Western Shore High-rise Flats, Hythe Pier and Marina, RAF Hythe American Base, Netley Abbey & Castle, Warsash BP Oil Farm, Fawley (Esso) Refinery & Dock Terminal, Oil & Gas Tankers, RWE Fawley Power Station, Calshot Spit, Calshot Coastguard Tower and various landscape features straddled along Southampton Water, thus providing the virtual pilot with an extensive landscape view of the area. Future European & UK Sea Ports have not yet been identified for rendition.
